My client, a leading travel agent who offers cheap domestic and international airfares, hotels, accommodation, car hire, car rental, cruises, rail passes, tours and travel insurance is looking for an experienced Partnership Marketing Manager.

The aim of this role is to own the sourcing, planning and project management for all co funded campaign activity that involves supplier or tourist board sponsorships. The role involves relationship building, negotiation, campaign conceptualization, campaign implementation and reporting. This role will work with a campaign executive to brief internal or external parties and obtain approval or sign off eg - DM agencies, fulfillment houses, internal design studio, PR, product and pricing teams.

The job requires a mix of selling, negotiating and marketing skill and success is measured in income generation and repeat marketing campaigns. Thus analysis and reporting with strategic planning of campaigns are key tasks.

The role involves representing the company to seek and plan co-op spend. This includes identifying which co-op opportunities apply to the retail brands and which media will perform best for each campaign. An understanding of each brand`s positioning and marketing initiatives are required to execute effective campaigns.

The role will work closely with the Marketing Team Leaders and Brand Marketing Managers, Head of Marketing to increase co-op activity and funding during the year with our key partners.

Co-op Partnerships
1) Objectives…
- Conceptualise the campaigns and propose activity to tourist boards and other partners.
- Recommend media with 3rd parties and then internally
- Agree and facilitate co-op partnerships with internal departments such as product
- Work with marketing team and pricing team to ensure proposals are delivered as per agreed plan
- Ensure that results are communicated back to suppliers

2) Performance Measures…
- Objectives set by proposals are met i.e. sales and market share
- Co-op sponsorship amount
- Repeat bookings from partners

Supplier relationships

- Develop relationships with suppliers and tourist boards as well as and maintain existing relationships
- Work with land departments to maintain good co-op relationship with suppliers

- Identify new co-op opportunities that fit in line with brand`s overall marketing strategy

Skills and Capabilities

- Proven understanding of retail marketing
An essential part of the role is to understand retail and how to deliver marketing opportunities that will have an impact in the stores by increasing enquiry to the stores.

- Relationship building
Supplier relations and internal team leaders will need a continual focus to ensure that the optimum performance and understanding is met.

- Project planning
The role will work closely with the campaign management role will work closely with the brand managers, marketing team and other departments.

- Analysis and reporting
To ensure that plans are always cost effective and have an impact in not only enquiry but sales, reporting is an essential part of the role.

Key decision making skills are crucial as the role will make strategic decisions. A clear understanding of the company`s long term plans is essential as the individual will be required to deliver on these items. An understanding of the balance needed between brand activity and enquiry generation is crucial.

- Experience in a marketing environment
Retail and marketing experience is crucial but paramount is the ability to influence how they deal with acquiring and retaining customers.
- Experience in negotiating with senior roles
The role will be the driving force behind all of our co-op partnerships and so the individual has to be able to manage strong personalities (both internal and external) in order to maximise the worth of the investment to both the company and the partner.
