The Role

We are searching for a professional business developer with proven experience of selling digital agency services and social media campaigns, to spearhead our business development activity in London, working from our London office.

Reporting to the Sales Director, the successful candidate will apply their digital knowledge, client focus, commercial acumen and strong personal network to develop new opportunities for Simply Zesty in the digital agency space in Greater London, and will work alongside colleagues to turn those opportunities into valuable clients.

Main Duties

To achieve agreed revenue and margin targets

To generate high quality leads that result in profitable new campaigns, accounts or projects

To develop and execute new business proposals

To make presentations to clients, negotiate and close sales

To coordinate appropriate Simply Zesty resources to maximise the quality of each new business proposal

To build good relationships with potential and existing clients

To be ‘visible’ in the market through attendance at appropriate events

To work with colleagues to help position the company for sales success through quality, creativity and strategic focus

To proactively consider new ways of improving business development approach or service offering

To continually develop digital knowledge to ensure the company remains at the vanguard of digital offering

Personal Specification 


Third level education in a business or marketing related discipline


Minimum of three years recent experience in a digital agency or similar environment

Experience of personally selling and driving significant digital projects to delivery

Experience of successful consultative selling


In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, and Internet technology and application

Sound knowledge of social networks and their commercial marketing application

Sound knowledge of the commercial digital marketing landscape in general

Sound knowledge of sales technique and the sales process


Prospecting, selling and closing skills

Commercial acumen

Interpreting client requirements and translating them to programs of work

Presentation skills with credibility at senior internal and client board level

Written, visual and verbal articulation

Strong interpersonal skills

Negotiation and problem solving


Self-starter with drive and tenacity

High degree of commitment, initiative and perseverance
