Designer Production Manager (Print, Digital, Production)

A Design and Production Manager is urgently required by a leading London based organisation. The role involves being a hands-on designer with day-to-day responsibility for the design and production of a range of outputs. With first class technical skills and ability, you will give guidance and direction to other designers, as well as to freelancers, to ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within budget and to a consistently high standard.

  • Carrying out excellent hands-on design and production for a range of outputs, including but not limited to: magazines, information products and marketing materials, policy reports and campaign materials
  • Providing professional design expertise and guidance, leading the other designers and overseeing all print and digital design outputs, including digital web banners, logos and other interactive pieces
  • Providing professional design expertise and guidance about the most appropriate design and production format for projects to all teams across the company and to external agencies
  • Managing the print and digital production schedule, delegating projects to the other designers and overseeing all jobs
  • Ensuring all outputs adhere to brand guidelines
  • Ensuring that all projects are produced to the highest standard and in line with specific objectives and evaluation criteria
  • Maintaining oversight of all design and production files and ensuring these are effectively organised
  • Working with project owners to ensure projects are kept within budget
  • Providing strong support to the Creative
  • Effectively line managing, developing and motivating the team
  • Managing relationships with suppliers to ensure outputs are delivered on time, within budget, and to a consistently high standard

  • Excellent design and creative skills
  • Advanced knowledge of design software packages, including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Advanced knowledge of print processes and print buying
  • Excellent project management and organisation skills
  • Proven ability to take projects through from design to delivery
  • Proven ability to produce and manage high volumes of print and digital materials, and deliver outputs to a very high quality, quickly
  • Substantial experience of managing and producing print, digital, web and collateral design
  • Proven experience of managing relationships with suppliers, including printers and freelance designers
  • Proven experience of effectively managing and developing staff
