List Marketing Manager (Books) - STMS Global Publisher (10 Months FTC)



Excellent Salary + Corporate Benefits (Pro Rata) 


The Opportunity:  


The successful candidate for this role will be required to implement appropriate marketing for key book lists in Social Sciences and Humanities. They will need to act as key marketing contact for the Literature, Cultural Studies and Communication Studies booklists with the aim of increasing revenue, securing adoptions and developing the scope and profile of these lists within the market.

You'd be joining a global publisher of print and electronic products and services for scientific, technical, medical, scholarly educational, professional and consumer markets. Some of the main tasks involved include:  


> Implementing agreed marketing plans and strategies for key books on the list, including e-marketing, conferences, websites, special sales initiatives, print based promotions, print and online advertising, social media  


> Ensuring that all textbooks and eTextbooks are promoted in a suitable manner to the target audience, including e-mail and direct mail campaigns, promotions with Amazon and contributing to companion web sites  


> Ensuring that all reference titles (print and digital) including multi-volume reference works, are promoted in an appropriate manner to the target audience, including scheduling and implementing library, faculty and contributor promotions  


> Working on timely publicity and press campaigns for key trade titles to ensure optimum review coverage  


> Playing an integral role in marketing planning for their subject lists and in communicating relevant information to all stakeholders, including global marketing colleagues in the US and Asia, and sales and journal colleagues  


> Communicating proactively with authors to inform them of planned marketing activities   


> Maintaining high quality data on our systems and ensure accuracy of information for our customers through various content management databases  


Selection Criteria:  


> Experience of working in Marketing


> Experience of dealing with customers through a variety of mediums


> Experience of campaign management, including planning, implementing and monitoring campaigns


> Excellent verbal and written communication skills


> Experience of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and databases


> The ability to pro-actively build rapport with a variety of people


> Experience of Financial Management including controlling expenditure


> The ability to work independently and complete projects to deadline without close supervision


> The ability to multitask and manage conflicting priorities


> Educated to Degree level or equivalent, preferably in Social Sciences or Humanities


> A Marketing qualification would be desirable but is not essential


> Experience in publishing would be desirable but is not essential
