Digital Strategist/Strategy/Planning Director - London - £100k/£150k - Digital Strategy, Social Media, Search, Optimisation, Technical, Planning Director

My client is a interactive marketing agency with global staff creating award-winning and innovative work, across a Fortune 1000 client portfolio. You will evangelise Search internally and with clients.

A superb opportunity has arisen for an Executive Strategy Director to join their very successful Strategy team. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead strategic activity, developing the strategic offering of the agency, working with key clients to deliver distinctive and effective digital strategies, manage the team strategy and build overall capability in the agency.

The key day-to-day tasks of the Strategy Director include:
  • You will evangelise about digital strategy and help both clients and the internal agency team to understand the impact that digital can have on a client business
  • You will be able to translate a strategic vision into practical propositions that relate to client business and will help the wider team sell our strategic offering to clients
  • Lead pitches and organic growth opportunities with key clients
  • With the aim of maximising revenue you will provide a strategic and operational approach to client strategic requirements
  • You will be expected to understand the commercial context of the business, make commercial decisions about the strategic offering and manage financial planning/forecasting
  • You will be responsible for building the capability of the department, managing and mentoring staff and recruiting new team members (along with the CEO/MD)

You will be an experienced Digital Strategist with an excellent understanding of technology, digital channels and their application

Key attributes of the Digital Strategist include:
  • Broad understanding of digital strategy in its widest sense - covering digital communications, social media, relationship management, search, optimisation and technical platforms
  • Entrepreneurial attitude coupled with strong business acumen
  • Excellent people management skills - an inspirational leader
  • Good understanding of the delivery process for digital programmes and campaigns
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with exceptional presentation skills
  • An open minded approach, able to readily accept the ideas of others while maintaining the ability to influence thinking
  • Able to collaborate across disciplines
