Octagon’s EMEI team is seeking a passionate Creative Planner to support the agency’s UK & Regional efforts to deliver breakthrough concepts and innovative integrated ideas. We understand fan passion better than anyone else so we’re looking for a creative thinker who is excited about the potential to develop great ideas and persuasive presentations that leverage the power of passion and brand experience. The primary responsibility of this position is to support the strategic and creative process with existing clients and new prospects in the UK and key European and Middle East markets. Octagon is a global thought leader so we want someone who is happy to travel occasionally, drive international thinking and be sensitive to local cultural trends.  

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • To work as a pivotal part of the Strategy & Insights Team to drive our thought leadership and help develop  strategies, creative concepts and activation plans for existing clients and new business opportunities
  • To lead the content and design of ideas and inspirational presentations
  • Actively identify account opportunities; suggest refinements to current initiatives; evaluate initiatives against current industry best practices and accomplishments
  • Understand, facilitate, teach and evolve the process and tools that foster productive creative development within the agency and among its employees
  • Partner with account teams to serve as a strategic and creative resource to support them in their efforts to better serve their clients
  • Use existing internal design/creative resources and cultivate freelance and partner agency resources for specific design and A/V requirements
  • Constantly evaluate and upgrade the formats used to develop and present creative concepts and agency creative product as a whole

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • Solid experience in a creative or strategic planning role (ideally with a Sponsorship, Brand Experience or Sports Marketing focus)
  • Demonstrated success in leading concept development from developing insights through the big idea, presentation and delivery
  • Must have strong design capability to ensure their creative output is visually strong and persuasive
  • Integrated and innovative experience a must, specifically in developing engaging content and experiences that generate PR/social media buzz
  • Ability to develop thinking using a media neutral perspective
  • Agency experience working in a similar role
  • Strong organizational and time management skills:  ability to work at a senior level on multiple projects simultaneously that are deadline sensitive
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines, departments and client’s additional agency partners
  • Excellent writing, attention to detail and communications skills
  • Understands the importance of teamwork
  • Self-starter, will take initiative with new projects
