National Account Manager (Grocery)

As the National Account Manager (Grocery)  your role will be to maximise sales and profit  through UK Grocery accounts, securing New Distribution and developing detailed trade marketing plans.

Responsibilities will include

  • Strategic planning and implementation Trade Marketing Plans
  • The securing of Brand Distribution through grocery multiple accounts 
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with the retailers through regular communication and meetings. 
  • Account P & L responsibility.
  • Product forecasting
  • Preparing fully for any meeting, circulate agendas prior to meetings and follow up notes post meetings.
  • Develop and implement trade promotional programmes to drive optimal sale
  • Work closely with the Brand Managers in order to develop retailer marketing activities
  • Forecast all promotional activity pre agreement and fully analyse post activity
  • Analyse, collect and understand week sales analysis to understand brand/SKU/promotional performance
  • Implementation of weekly retail forecasts and annual reviews

Skills and Experience Required:

  • A proven track record in managing the top grocers ie Tescos, Sainsburys, Waitrose, Asda
  • National Account Management experienced gained within the OTC(over the counter medicines), VMS (vitamins, minerals and Supplement) would be ideal however our client would consider candidates that have strong buyer relationships within the top grocers
  • Strong negotiating skills with top grocers decision makers
  • Developing and reviewing business plans
  • Increasing sales by proactively seeking out and growing new business opportunities
  • Effectively managing and growing existing accounts
  • Strong analytical skills 
  • Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written
  • Confident presentation skills at all levels to both small and large groups
  • Budget management
