SOCIAL MEDIA TALENT MANAGER | Central London | up to £40k

I’m hiring a Talent Manager with a Global understanding of social media talent and the issues and opportunities facing this brand new media phenomenon.


My client has some of the best social media talent working for them.  They manage the careers and media of some of the most influential social talent/bloggers/youtubers around.  They are set up to manage, monetise and develop ‘social talent’ from the UK on Global social and traditional media platforms.

The role of Talent Manager will suit a highly presentable and personable individual who is able to mix in all kinds of social circles all over the world.   (Please note this is not a recruitment/HR role!).  A background of working in a similar field would be great, a PR background would be advantageous too.  The idea Talent Manager is skilled at negotiation, commercially savvy and able to understand and enhance procurement contracts.

Other skills needed are; presentation, analytics and a good understanding of how digital media works.

The management company will:

  • Explore, develop and negotiate all commercial relationships.
  • Explore and develop editorial opportunities including multiplatform formats.
  • Provide financial and legal advice, manage PO boxes and email inboxes
  • Provide analytics and reporting
  • Manage relationships and sales with Google direct
  • Diary management, publicity, Licencing and Brand/Product development

The role of Talent Manager

1. Process

  • Develop a talent briefing process and manage a Talent Producer
  • Research and develop relationship with 3rd party suppliers
  • Develop clear and quantifiable case studies
  • Manage Talent Producer process/recruitment
  • Standardise reporting and billing/remittance on a monthly basis
  • Oversee reporting and reporting issues for talent

2.  New business support

  • Identify a target list of brands and agencies to pitch to
  • Regularly educate and lead thought on ‘Social Talent’ globally
  • Develop a ‘Creds’ presentations for social talent
  • Develop a relationship with media outlets in US
  • Develop formats and editorial (TV, Multiplatform, Media Partners) properties in partnership with talent
  • Search out opportunities with talent related businesses

3. Talent Support

  • Produce monthly analytics, insights and income report
  • Manage commercial inboxes
  • Develop a global relationship with Google
  • Create access to with partners to premieres, events and services (Cars, Airlines, Hotels, Restaurants)
  • Press and Diaries
