Head of Creative
This is a super position with an expanding marcomms agency which requires a Head of Creative to steer their design team both creatively and strategically.
This client is a hidden gem. They are well established, have brilliant clients, a great working space and a real interest in developing technology, but to take their agency to the next level they really need an inspirational Head of Creative who can lead their existing design team conceptually, based on a clear and strategically sound thought process. Their workload, like any medium sized agency is broad in its nature. They work alongside some amazing global clients, but also more local clients within education, leisure, retail, producing award winning digital work (websites, apps, e-books) as well as traditional design for print for and advertising. They are looking for a hugely talented creative who can inspire the other members of the design team through their design flair and up their pitch conversion rate through demonstrating real strategic thought in the answering of briefs. However, they also need this person to be a proven team manager, capable of bringing the best out of the existing team, scheduling the workload and carefully managing the design resources available to them.
One of the brilliant things this agency can offer their clients is flexibility, so this role must be taken on by someone who has the same flexible attitude, but who can still manage the process around this. The agency has a brilliant account handling team to work closely with and have brilliant digital resources available to them, but what they really need from this person is something new. Whilst their work does have a bias towards b2b, they would welcome candidates with a cross section of consumer experience as well to add depth to their experience. They have also undertaken a lot of development and training to be able to offer their clients new technologies and they are keen that anyone who joins their team should share this love.
So, to be considered for this role you must be able to command the respect of the existing creative through your impressive portfolio and proven man-management skills, and you must have worked within an agency environment. You might not have had the title of Head of Creative before, perhaps you're a Senior Designer who manages all the processes which are important to this client and is used to managing a small team, or maybe you're fed up of being just a cog in a larger wheel and feel you would fit within a smaller agency environment.
