Great opportunity for a Project Manager / Account Manager to join this growing boutique communications agency and make their mark.

The Agency

This is a boutique communications design agency going through a period of change and development. Set up by two directors from well-known names in advertising and design, the agency has invested in new skills, people and research as part of its growth plan. This plan has led to a number of exciting new business wins in the last few months. A key new client has win has led to the need to further develop the project management & client services team.

The agency work with some exciting names – a real variety of clients in media, technology, FMCG and leisure, amongst others. Their work ranges from online marketing and communications, POS, video, infographics to print communications.

Project Manager / Account Manager

A key part of the company’s continued growth depends on the ability to manage client projects and relationships to the full. The successful Project Manager / Account Manager will need to be a self-starter who is comfortable taking a project from brief to completion and take ownership for all elements of the work. Ideally they will have some experience managing digital and possibly video projects. The Project Manager / Account Manager will be working with the new client for around 50% of their time, but will also be working with other clients too to ensure variety.

The overall role of Project Manager / Account Manager is to ensure all projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the desired quality.

Project Manager / Account Manager - Relationships

The Project Manager / Account Manager will build rapport and develop/nurture relationships with key day-to day clients, project team members and suppliers to ensure expectations are met, value and quality delivered and the foundation for future opportunities are created.

  • Motivate the project team to challenge assumptions, stay focused and deliver excellence
  • Establish and maintain day-to-day contact with the Client
  • Act as the knowledge link between the project team and the Client’s business (it’s operation, key stakeholders profiles, products & services, markets as well as internal and external challenges)

Project Manager / Account Manager - Project Scoping & Management

The Project Manager / Account Manager will scope projects, maintain momentum, and manage expectations and deadlines.

  • Ensure an agreed client brief is documented and agreed before project scoping is carried out
  • Write project proposals covering scope, fees, strategic/creative deliverables, timings and success metrics
  • Initiate kick off briefing sessions to ensure project team are fully aware of expectations and deliverables
  • Ensure creative briefs are written and signed off
  • Ensure that creative standards are met and surpassed
  • Set timely reviews with internal stakeholders prior to client presentation

Project Manager / Account Manager - Production

Ensure value to the client is optimised while striving to deliver fresh solutions.

  • Act as primary agency contact for production, resourcing and freelance recruitment suppliers, ensuring billing etc.are up to date
  • Secure competitive tenders where appropriate

Project Manager / Account Manager - Financial Management

Ensure that all fees and expenditure are signed off and controlled throughout the project

  • Ensure fee proposals cover scope of work and expense budgets are adequate
  • Timely billing working with Finance
  • Manage Agency and freelance resource against agreed project fees
  • Work with Agency Directors and account team to provide regular income projections
