Marketing Communications Manager

My Client, a highly regarded local government council, is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join their team as Marketing Communications Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Protecting and enhancing the reputation of the council and supporting effective delivery of council and partnership services.  Lead the end-to-end delivery of communications and marketing projects. Managing all internal and external client relationships and ensuring the right communications services are provided at the right time to deliver agreed outcomes for clients. To manage a high quality multimedia creative service as part of an integrated communications offer.
  • Embedding a planned outcome-focused approach to communications across the council ensuring activities are prioritised to ensure best use of resources allocated to communications.
  • Supporting a user-focused approach to the development, provision and optimisation of digital services for the council and its partners.
  • Supporting performance and professional development of the Communications and Marketing Team and acting as a professional lead for communications staff  
  • Protecting members, officers and the Council brand through effective advice and co-ordination of all internal and external communications.
  • Overseeing the effective management of external suppliers and external contracts to ensure bought-in services deliver exceptional quality and value for money at all times.

Key Attributes:

  • Qualified to degree level (or equivalent relevant workplace experience).
  • Demonstrable track record of achieving excellence in strategic marketing or communications projects and taking campaigns/initiatives from concept to implementation. 
  • Experience of client / account management. 
  • Demonstrable track record of managing services, staff, resources and change. 
  • Experience of market research and campaign evaluation.
  • Hold post-graduate level professional qualification in marketing or communications (eg CIM, IDM, CIPR, PRCA).
  • Experience of working in a political environment
