My client, a luxury travel specialist, is in need of a performance-marketing wizard, grounded in PPC, to fuel their rapid growth.
You will be responsible for;
• Developing and implementing the strategy for paid digital acquisition channels, principally PPC, but also RTB and affiliates
• Taking full responsibility for managing their Paid Search campaigns and budgets at all levels of detail, across multiple geographies and multiple brands
• Taking full responsibility for tech and tools used to drive their overall performance marketing activities, including selection of appropriate bid management software
• Continually look for optimisation and testing opportunities, both in terms of copy/creative and in terms of analytical optimisation
• Growing your network of external influencers by attending relevant events and forums; building direct relationships with Google and other technology providers
• Developing overall strategy for cross channel attribution and tracking; helping them to understand cause: effect across the performance marketing mix
• Liaising closely with the Web Manager and SEO agency on keyword insight, ad testing and strategy
• Taking full ownership of all reporting and KPI measurement, daily, weekly, monthly
• Providing thought leadership
The Person
You are first and foremost a do-er. You enjoy analysing data, learning from it and changing your plans based on it. You recognise that PPC results are very much more than just the click and have a desire to input into the whole user journey through to sale. You don’t wait for direction from others; you instinctively know what to do and have the courage to try new things.
As much as you are comfortable with the detail and ‘doing’, you are keen to take the step in your career and work closely with the Marketing Director to build out the digital acquisition strategy; to this end, you are ready and happy to communicate regularly with senior management and are able to ‘translate’ the day-to-day detail into easily understood plans. You are excited by the new and changing technologies in this area and your goal is to be the go-to expert in the business for paid acquisition.
To be suitable, you must have:
• Demonstrable experience in managing PPC campaigns within a high volume commercial business (agency or client-side)
• Experience working on integrated SEO and PPC campaigns, working with SEOs to improve overall results
• Up-to-date knowledge and experience of Google Adwords platform and tracking technologies; experience of a bid management tool e.g. Marin a distinct advantage
• Success in managing some or all of the other major volume driving online channels, for e.g. affiliates, partnerships, display
• Experience of integrating mobile devices into your campaigns
• A mathematical mind; you are a data-driven, strong completer-finisher who can strategise, share and deliver
• The aptitude, desire and savviness to embrace and conquer new performance marketing channels, particularly all forms of biddable media including RTB and paid social
