Online Forum Manager/Coordinator - London – £20,000 - £30,000 

My client is a trail-blazing education business, whose strategy is to become a global leader within online education.

Launched  in July  2013,  and designed for people who  are  either fresh  to the  marketing / media industry or working in the  industry who need to develop their  expertise and  mind-set to take  full advantage of the  digital revolution. Around 2,000 students per year are studying this intensive 6-month qualification in digital marketing, based on an existing, innovative course, which was piloted by Google throughout2012, and scoped based on market demand from leading agencies and brands.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for online education, new technologies and facilitating learning, and is looking for an exciting new challenge.

The key day-to-day tasks of the Online Facilitator include:

• Introduce online discussions at the start of each new intake to foster a community of learning and to prepare learners for the learning experience. 

• You will encourage students to actively participate in all aspects of the course and to embrace the Virtual Campus as their ‘Squared home’.

• Manage ongoing online discussions based around the course content and group activities, to assist them in achieving the course objectives and create an atmosphere of collaborative learning.

• Respond in a clear and well-expressed manner to students’ questions and provide regular, accurate, and timely assistance, feedback and support to students.

• Introduce group work in an appropriate manner to ensure all group members participate in group work and discussions. Guide groups’ strategies and time management and give feedback on milestones where appropriate.

• Provide a space where students can ask questions and  raise concerns for the  duration of their group project.

• Actively monitor and  analyse student progress and  feedback and  provide mediation and  direction as needed, and  communicate findings clearly and  concisely  to the  delivery team

Key tributes of the Online Facilitator include:

• A Bachelor’s degree.

• A keen interest in online education

• Experience in online facilitation, both in forums and live classes

• Knowledge and experience working within a Virtual Learning Environment, preferably Moodle

• Excellent written and oral communication skills and evidence of a high standard of customer service

• Excellent IT skills with an interest in new technological development

• Knowledge and experience working within a Web Conferencing platform, preferably Adobe Connect

• Experience of facilitating group work online
