Product Owner - £40-45k - London

My client is a trail-blazing education business, whose strategy is to become a global leader within online education.

Launched in July 2013, and designed for people who are either fresh to the marketing / media industry or working in the industry who need to develop their expertise and mind-set to take full advantage of the digital revolution. Around 2,000 students per year are studying this intensive 6-month qualification in digital marketing, based on an existing, innovative course, which was piloted by Google throughout 2012, and scoped based on market demand from leading agencies and brands.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for online education, new technologies and facilitating learning, and is looking for an exciting new challenge.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Stakeholder management, requiring the ability to clearly articulate proposals, plans and visions around the product to internal and external stakeholders and generate buy in, including:
• Act as key interface between the company and the team at Google
• Leading and collaborating with diverse teams (SMEs, instructional design, learning technology and student community teams) to drive product development and deliver to agreed timelines and quality levels
• Responsibility for the ongoing development and evolution of the product and development of new products
• Continuous iteration to respond to the market’s needs and feedback
• Ownership of feedback processes, and clear and timely dissemination and articulation of insights to the wider team
• Maintaining an up to date knowledge of the digital marketing industry through regular reviews with SMEs
• Organising, running and managing quarterly content review cycles, and implementing agreed changes
• Driving best practice in e-learning and online group work with the company, through ongoing test and learn cycles

This role requires someone who is extremely well organised and flexible, a self starter who will flourish in a fast paced start-­?up. An excellent team worker with a creative mindset and passion for elearning and the digital environment. Someone who can motivate teams, and individuals, to deliver high quality products on time, and communicate ideas and concepts effectively to internal and external stakeholders.


• Demonstrable knowledge of the course design and development cycle, working with SMEs, instructional designers and developers
• Experience of course development in a commercial organisation, with clear evidence of delivering high quality products on time and to budget
• Leadership and project management experience, with clear evidence of successfully delivering to agreed timescales through a collaborative approach or customer experience knowledge, and an understanding of a users requirements in using e- / m-learning products
• Aware of the latest developments in e-learning
• Aware of the latest developments in digital marketing
