3UK loses marketing director Penberthy-Smith
LONDON - 3UK marketing director John Penberthy-Smith is leaving the mobile operator after less than 18 months following a restructure of its sales and marketing teams.
Penberthy-Smith has taken the decision to step down as part of a reshuffle that will see the company bring its sales and marketing teams together under sales director Marc Allera, who will now oversee all aspects of 3UK's customer experience.

3UK appointed John Penberthy-Smith to the role of marketing director in January 2007, replacing Graeme Oxby, who is now managing director of Virgin Mobile.
During his time at 3UK, Penberthy-Smith oversaw a review of the mobile operator's agency arrangements, ditching WCRS and handing the £27m creative account to Euro RSCG following a three-way pitch against Glue London and Hurrell & Dawson.
Prior to joining 3, Penberthy-Smith held a range of roles at Vodafone, including director of consumer marketing for Vodafone UK. It is not known if he has another job to go to.
