3 trials new Spotify display ads

Spotify, the music streaming service, has rolled out a new display advertising format with mobile operator 3.

The billboard format will see full-screen ads come up on screen once a user has been inactive for five minutes. The ad will remain in view until the user moves the computer mouse on the site, after which it will scroll down into a leaderboard ad.

3 Mobile is the first brand to utilise the new format, together with an accompanying audio ad. 3's campaign promotes free skype to skype calls on Pay As You Go.
