has elected Rosie Arnold, the deputy executive creative director at Bartle Bogle Hegarty, as deputy president. New president Simon ‘Sanky’ Sankarayya said he was "thrilled to have someone so well respected by the creative community to liaise with in my year". (Campaign)

Marketing

Sharon Baylay, the BBC's director of marketing, communications and audiences, is to leave in the spring as part of a reduction in the size of the corporation's executive board. A management cull by director-general Mark Thompson has resulted in the closure of Baylay's post. (Marketing)

Kraft, the US food giant, has lost two more Cadbury executives following its £11.6bn takeover of the British confectionery company in January. Tamara Minick-Scokalo, a former Cadbury executive who currently heads Kraft’s European chocolate business, is leaving the business for personal reasons. Ignasi Ricou, who ran Cadbury’s gum and sweet operation in Europe, is also leaving the company. He is leaving to join a business in Spain. Replacing Ricou is Maurizo Brusadeli, while Patrick Satamian is to replace Minick-Scokalo. (Marketing)

Budget airline easyJet has named Paul Moore as its new communications director, effective from 1 November. Moore replaces Oliver Aust, who has been with the company for just under six years, firstly as head of public affairs and then as head of communications and public affairs. Aust has not yet said which company he will be moving to, although he has said he will be taking up another senior communications role. (Marketing)

Media


The National Magazine Company has promoted Matt Salmon to the newly created role of group commercial director, responsible for all advertising strategies across the portfolio. He will lead NatMag’s advertising operation and his key responsibilities will be defining and delivering the company’s advertising strategy. (Media Week)

David Davies, managing director of Bauer's women's weeklies and women's lifestyle divisions, is leaving the magazine publisher after 13 years. Davies is believed to be taking up the chief executive role at global book publisher Phaidon Press, which specialises in books on the visual arts. (Media Week)
 
News International (NI) has poached Discovery Television Networks's chief operating operator David Rey to fill the new role of chief business officer, and has promoted Katie Vanneck-Smith to chief marketing officer. Both Vanneck-Smith, who was formerly managing director of NI's customer direct division, and Rey, will report to Rebekah Brooks, chief executive of News International. (Media Week)

ESPN, the Disney-owned sports broadcaster, has appointed BBC Worldwide's European sales director, Alan Fagan, to the new role of group director of advertising and sponsorship sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. (Campaign)

Ivan Lewis, Bury South MP, has been appointed shadow secretary of state for culture, media and sport by Ed Miliband. Lewis has been an MP since 1997 and held various roles in the last government, latterly as minister of state for foreign and commonwealth affairs. He has no previous media experience. (Media Week)

Mindshare Worldwide has appointed Jonathan Barrowman as head of digital strategy. Barrowman was formerly head of client services at independent agency i-level, and before, that was head of radio and mobile at Initiative. He will report to global digital leader Norm Johnston. (Media Week)

GroupM agency MediaCom has recruited associate director of Aegis-owned Carat Catherine Pronzato to take on the role of board director, with responsibility for press, strategy and print futures. The agency is restructuring its futures and implementation team within its investment department, under the watch of managing partner Rhys McLachlan. (Media Week)
