Jimmy Choo co-founder Tamara Mellon leaves the company and chief executive Mike Cornwell departs MRM London, all in BR's round-up of this week's people moves in advertising, marketing and media.
Tamara Mellon: leaves Jimmy Choos
Mike Cornwell, the chief executive of MRM London, has left the agency following MRM Worldgroup's acquisition of the direct marketing shop Meteorite. MRM is merging with Meteorite to create MRM Meteorite. The Meteorite co-founders, Hugh Bishop and Debbie Smith, will run the business as chairman and chief executive respectively. (Campaign)
Proximity London has promoted Lou Barber and Chris Slough as part of a shake-up of its senior management team. Barber, previously the agency's managing director, will now become its chairman, and Slough will take over her old role. (Campaign)
Isobar has promoted Katie White to head its specialist social division, Isobar Social. White, who was previously a senior planner at Glue Isobar, will take on the newly created role immediately as Isobar adds resource to its social media offer. (Campaign)
Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO has bolstered its creative department with the appointment of Andy Amadeo as a creative director and Hugh Tarpey as the head of design. Amadeo was previously the creative director at Grey London, where he co-created and directed Toshiba's "space chair" in 2009. (Campaign)
Gyro London has appointed former Proximity London managing partner Claire Wright as its managing director. Wright who has worked more recently at CMW as client services director, replaces Matt Kitcherside, who leaves the agency after 11 years, later this month. (Campaign)
The woman who co-founded and built Jimmy Choo into a global luxury brand, Tamara Mellon, has departed only months after its £500m acquisition by fashion group Labelux. Mellon, chief creative officer at the brand, and chief executive Joshua Schulman have left to pursue their own careers. (Marketing)
Factual entertainment broadcaster A+E Networks UK, a joint venture between A+E Networks and BSkyB, has poached BBC marketer Anna Priest to be its vice-president of marcomms. (Marketing)
BBC Worldwide has appointed Fiona Eastwood in the new role of marketing director for its consumer products division, to drive the commercial potential of key brands and talent. Eastwood will join in January. (Marketing)
Twitter's top marketer Pam Kramer has left the company after less than four months in the job, according to reports. Kramer joined the micro-blogging platform as its first vice-president of consumer marketing in July, charged with building the brand and increasing its global user base. (Marketing)
Absolute Radio has appointed Ben Barker, currently head of radio at OMD UK, as its new head of agency sales, replacing Remy Kirk who became ad director in August. (Media Week)
Guardian News & Media (GNM), publisher of the Guardian and the Observer newspaper, is parting company with two key executives, including executive board member Colin Hughes, whose B2B division is to be restructured. GNM's head of events Charlotte Gooch is to also leave the business. (Media Week)
BT has appointed Virgin Media's former executive director Alex Green as TV commercial and product director, while BT Vision commercial director Andy Baker takes the role of chief executive of BT Wi-Fi. (Media Week)
Bauer Media has appointed Mark Frith as editorial director, lifestyle, and promoted head of magazines Abby Carvosso to the new role of managing director of lifestyle and advertising, as two executives depart from the business. (Media Week)
