Media Bitch's Diary 3 February
This week Bitch hangs out with a sharp-dressed man, tries to hitch a ride to Monaco, gets in SKYN deep and attends the Channel 4 2012 party.
Enyi Nwosu: dressed to kil
Every girl crazy 'bout a sharp-dressed man
GQ isn't normally one of Bitch's normal "must-reads" (she prefers Glamour in the Condé Nast stable), but as she was glancing through the new issue this week, she suddenly stopped in her tracks when she saw an old friend of Media Week, Enyi Nwosu, the managing director of Central Strategy Unit at M&C Saatchi, who seems to have sneaked into GQ's 10 best-dressed businessmen poll, at number eight (on page 237).
Now Bitch isn't saying that Enyi isn't dapper and debonair, because he is, but number eight in the men's consumer glossy!
However, Bitch has been told that this may have all been the work of Condé Nast marketing director Jean Faulkner, who might have had a little something to do with putting Enyi forward for the list, with Mr Nwosu insisting that he "knew nothing about it" and "was stitched up…in a nice way."
According to the write-up, Enyi, who is only one step behind Evgeny Lebedev, chairman of the London Evening Standard at seventh, "looks as slick as one of his pitches", Oh please pass the sick bucket, Bitch feels unwell.
Monaco or bust
Bitch has always thought herself a girl of a certain calibre, so when an email dropped into her box extolling the virtues of the FT Run to Monaco, she thought it was just another invitation to the showbiz lifestyle of parties, Champagne and yachts, she's become accustomed to from being Media Week's girl about town.
No such luck, just an announcement to say that former Formula 1 Champion Damon Hill would be leading the run of a fleet of luxury supercars from London to Monaco. Oh the glamour, the celebrities…and…Ben Hughes, global commercial director, deputy CEO of the Financial Times and Media Week columnist, who described the event as "an exciting new initiative for us…"
A little bit different to Mr Hill's quote – he described it as "the ultimate ticket to the world's most glamorous race."

Bitch doesn't want to be rude, Ben darling, but it might do a little better in the next missive she gets about the race to be a little more James Bond about it, sweetie.
Johnny Cum Lately
To all you Johnny Cum Lately’s, here is Bitch’s favourite invite of the week, for condom brand SKYN, which is going to be launching on Mega Poster sites on Valentine's Day (how romantic).

Apparently, the launch will be accompanied by a party at one of Bitch's favourite haunts where she’s sure you can expect a Soft Slow Comfortable Screw Against the Wall or a Sex on the Beach (or maybe by the upstairs swimming pool, although Bitch wouldn’t recommend it in this weather).
Four play
The media industry seems to be still finding its hollow legs if the party to kick off Channel 4's 2012 schedule is anything to go by. Bitch was in attendance and spent most of the night looking for the great and the good of media and it was sparsely populated.
Spotted during the evening, listening to a speech from chief executive David Abraham was PHD chief executive Daren Rubins, with a lovely, nicely trimmed beard, that he's promised to keep, "until I win the Media Week Agency of the Year Award again," the big show-off (and winner of this year’s title).

His old PHD team mate Lindsay Pattison, now chief executive of WPP’s Maxus was in attendance, together with the MediaCom girls Karen Blackett, chief executive and new MD Claudine Collins who, when questioned, said she was settling in to the role, but leaving parties that little bit early.
For those of you now in a flap that Claudine has hung up her party shoes forever, you need not worry, Bitch overheard her say to one guest, "it's not going to be all the time, I'm just moderating it a bit at the moment."
Media (and Bitch) heaves a sigh of relief…
Well my little January detoxers, about time to put down that health smoothie and pack away the gym kit for a while, as we're into February.
If I don't see you by next week, you haven't been naughty enough…
Bitch xxx
