Media Bitch's Diary 1 March
This week, Bitch follows the News International team to Chamonix, gets a bit ripe with Specsavers and enters exams with Starcom MediaVest Group.
Chamonix: snowtime for guests of News International
Ski Sunday
Bitch would like to congratulate News international on the launch of The Sunday Sun, and it looks like the commercial team has wasted no time in celebrating its 3.26 million sales last week. In fact, they were so happy that they whisked a number of head of press and chief executives off on a skiing jolly in the picturesque French resort of Chamonix, nestled in The Alps.
With the Leveson inquiry rolling on and James Murdoch's resignation as NI chairman, Bitch doesn’t blame the boys for taking a break while they can.
Jersey Jaunt
This girl hears that the Specsavers media review has not only become a bit of a farcical affair (with delayed flights and representatives from Aegis agency Vizeum circling in a plane over the company's headquarters in Jersey, due to poor visibility), but it has also become quite a ripe affair, with the only representatives to punch through the weather and spend time with the client, losing their luggage in the process.

This girl hears that this apparently led to the agency in question not even being able to present in fresh clothes. She knows that Specsavers are interested in helping people with their sight issues, but is sure the client would have rather been helped with their sense of smell on this particular pitch day.
MEC, the aforementioned Vizeum and Manning Gottlieb OMD are fighting it out for the brief.
Searching for a pass
News comes to Bitch that Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) has been buzzing this week with the staff doing feverish cramming to take part in the Google Certification Program (GCP), to bring them all up to speed on the search giant's tools.

The entire agency is said to have been entered to become digital specialists with a tit-for-tat battle going on between MediaVest managing director Steve Parker and SMG chief executive Stewart Easterbrook refusing to reveal their scores publicly. Bitch hears that Steve will only reveal that he got "something that begins with a nine", while Stewart would only reveal that he "passed". C'mon boys, what are you trying to hide? Bitch is quite happy for you to reveal your true scores in the comment box below.
And on that competitive note, Bitch will leave it for another week. Until next time my little Googlewhackers.
Bitch xxx
