Grolsch launches first feature from Film Works brand platform
Dutch beer brand Grolsch is this weekend premiering the first in a series of feature films produced by its new Grolsch Film Works platform, as part of its strategy to align the brand with the "creativity, innovation and great ideas" of independent film.
Val Kilmer: US actor stars in The Fourth Dimension from Grolsch Film Works
'The Fourth Dimension' will premiere at the San Francisco International Film Festival. It was funded by Grolsch and created in partnership with Vice Films, whose executive creative director Eddy Moretti acted as project manager.
It stars American actor Val Kilmer and brings together the contributions of three directors – Harmony Korine from the US, Russia’s Alexsei Fedorchenko, and Polish-born Jan Kwiecinski.
Each director was asked to create a 30-minute short, filmed in each of their native countries and exploring their interpretation of a "fourth dimension".
Thomas Kamphuis, who heads up the Grolsch Film Works programme, said: "We are proud to have worked with three such diverse talents on the creation of the first feature film from Grolsch Film Works.
"It was a huge international undertaking and a narrative challenge to tie these three, idiosyncratic films together. 'The Fourth Dimension' is a fascinating creative work we are delighted to show the world. We are thrilled to do that for the first time at the San Francisco International Film Festival."
Grolsch Films Works is intended to promote and cultivate up-and-coming filmmakers, actors, directors and the genius that goes into making inspiring indie movies, through funding projects and showcasing their work worldwide.
It sponsors the San Francisco International Film Festival and the Brooklyn Film Festival in the US, along with Future Shorts and the Beat Film Festival in Russia, Shorts Up in Romania, and Mlodzi i Film in Poland.
