CAMPAIGN.I: Agency.com's creative chief goes to PixelPark
Agency.com, the global digital agency, has lost its senior creative director, Jason Young, to the e-solutions company PixelPark.
Agency.com, the global digital agency, has lost its senior creative director, Jason Young, to the e-solutions company PixelPark.
In his new role as art director at PixelPark, Young will oversee the creative development of the its digital marketing arm, whose clients include Comet and Credit Suisse.
Although he maintains that his split from Agency.com was amicable, Young said: 'Agency.com is a very big company and, therefore, is very figures-orientated, which is understandable. But I think that the creative side of things did suffer a bit because of this.
'I was pushing paper more than I wanted to, rather than sitting down with the other creatives.'
Young's departure follows Agency.com's loss of the e-commerce account for British Airways, one of its biggest clients, to the web consultancy iXL.
Young is best known for his creative work on the digital marketing account for British Airways, which Agency.com will maintain. He was behind the launch of the first online superstitial advertising campaign in the UK for the brand, which uses a polite loading technology that delivers rich-media ads without slowing down users' browsers.
Young also worked on the creation of the new Tranzition internet ad technology while at Agency.com. Tranzitions load on to a computer screen between browser pages, and are a non-response branding tool.
John Cunningham, the creative director at PixelPark, said: 'We are solidifying our online marketing activities. Jason overflows with ideas, he's very passionate and fits in with the mindset of PixelPark.' The digital marketing department at PixelPark has been running for more than a year, and the agency has just won the account for the new Handspring personal digital assistant, which it will share with Leo Burnett.
Before joining Agency.com, Young was the media producer at Modem Media.
He has also worked as an interactive producer at Saatchi & Saatchi as well as a new-media production manager at Ogilvy & Mather.
