Media Relations: Contact book update
Sam Baker is the new editor of Cosmopolitan magazine, replacing Lorraine Candy, who left to be editor-in-chief of Elle (PRWeek, 30 April). Baker was the editor of stablemate Company before quitting at the end of last year to write a novel. She begins her new role on 5 July.
Metro, the free daily newspaper, is producing a series of monthly supplements with the NHS, called Metro Health Zone, on issues such as diet and exercise. The paper's health editor is Jamie Walters.
The Wall Street Journal Europe has appointed Marcus Walker as pan-European economics reporter. Reporting to Brussels bureau chief Adam Horvath, his remit covers news and features focused on the European economy. He replaces Christopher Rhoads, who has returned to the New York bureau to cover technology.
Martin Clarke, editor-in-chief of Ireland on Sunday, has been made executive editor of the Mail on Sunday. His place will be taken by Ted Verity. Both titles are owned by Associated Newspapers.
Tiffany Daneff has been made editor of Seven Publishing's new lifestyle title Gardenlife. Martyn Cox will be her deputy. Daneff was formerly gardening editor at The Daily Telegraph and takes over from Gardenlife launch editor Paula McWaters on 5 July.
Frederick Studemann has been made UK correspondent of the Financial Times, writing about the commercial, political and economic life of Britain for the international edition of the paper. He was previously assistant news editor responsible for the European front page.
Hachette Filipacchi has appointed Francois Vincens to the newly created role of editorial director, overseeing magazines such as Elle, Red, B and Sugar. He was formerly group editorial director at Hachette Filipacchi Media US.
Margi Conklin is to be the new editor of Emap's monthly glossy New Woman.
She replaces Sara Cremer, who is working on special projects for Emap Consumer Media. Conklin is a former assistant editor of the title.
Future Publishing has produced Digital DJ as a spin-off from its Future Music magazine. Aimed at 16 to 20-year-old DJs who use CDs rather than vinyl, the new title is co-edited by Ian Harris and Oz Owen.
Janice Hadlow, head of Channel 4's specialist factual programmes, is to be the new controller of BBC4, the arts and culture channel. She will take over from Roly Keating, who is moving to a similar role at BBC2.
Rob Burley, deputy editor of LWT's political debate show The Jonathan Dimbleby Programme, has been promoted to editor. He replaces David Sayer, who is working on other projects for LWT Factual.
Eamonn Holmes is to present a Saturday morning news and sport show on BBC Radio Five Live. The two-hour, self-titled programme goes out from 9am and will begin on 28 August. Holmes replaces Adrian Chiles, who is to present football show 6-0-6 on Sundays.
Gren Manuel has been promoted to news editor, EMEA equities at Dow Jones Newswires. Currently assistant news editor in charge of technology, media and telecoms, he will report to newly appointed senior news editor Jason Rogers.
ExpressShopping.tv is to go live in August in support of Express Shopping Channel, the digital TV retail and entertainment venture from Northern & Shell Network that is due to launch that month. The company is owned by Richard Desmond.
Ian Rodgers has been made sports editor of the Scottish Press Association. He has run the agency's sports operation for the last four years, including the launch of its Scottish sports wire earlier this year. He joined PA as a sports reporter in 1997.
