InfoSpace picks Access to run corporate comms, mobile tech PR

BELLEVUE, WA: Search and mobile technologies company InfoSpace has selected Access Communications to handle its corporate communications and mobile technology PR.

Search technology PR is handled by Text 100.

InfoSpace's mobile technology enables companies to deliver content - from InfoSpace's own yellow pages directory to ring tones and games - to mobile devices.

"We have a new management team, and our business is growing," said communications manager Amina Suchoski. "We felt that now was the time for us to increase our visibility and tell our story."

InfoSpace did not previously work with an agency on corporate communications, but did use OnPR for its mobile technology PR.

InfoSpace selected Access for its mix of experience with consumer and mobile technology companies, said Suchoski.

Content for mobile devices is an exploding market, and Access will work to develop brand awareness for InfoSpace, said Susan Butenhoff, president and CEO of Access.

"The [content] you offer and your brand will win the battle for market share in this space," she added.

Access will target "Gen-Y" consumers, teens, and adults in their early 20s, explained Butenhoff, who added that these groups generally do not respond well to advertising, but are influenced by word of mouth.
