Poker available on the move as Casino.co.uk signs deal with Orange

The deal, signed with Casino.co.uk-owner Gaming Corporation, will include nine java games such as blackjack, roulette, stud poker, slot machines and scratch cards. People can play for fun or for cash prizes, and registration and deposits can be made via the mobile handset.

The service is set to launch later this month, and will be available through the Orange World Wap portal.

With online gambling one of the fastest growing sectors on the web, and concerns over the problem of gambling addiction, the Casino.co.uk mobile gaming service will comply with industry regulation to ensure age verification. It will also make maximum bet sizes and daily limits available.

Justin Drummond, chief executive of Gaming Corporation, said: "The potential worldwide market for mobile gaming is huge and predicted to grow to over $8.6bn in 2006. With our first-mover advantage, Gaming Corporation is now well positioned to take a significant share of the rapidly growing UK mobile gaming market."

Casino.co.uk was named the most-visited gambling site in the UK by Hitwise figures in March this year, and recorded more than 2m unique visitors in January.
