Trading places: this week's people moves
Barclays, Trinity Mirror and TBWA\London all make key senior appointments in a bid to turn around their fortunes, in this week's round-up of people moves across advertising, marketing and media.
Antony Jenkins: succeeds Bob Diamond as chief executive of Barclays Bank

TBWA UK Group's new chairman and chief creative officer, Peter Souter, is reuniting the award-winning creatives Walter Campbell and Sean Doyle, hiring them as creative directors at TBWA\London. (Campaign)
Rapier, the independent shop that went into administration this week, is set to be reborn under the ownership of a new company called Rapier Communications, jointly owned by the chief executive, Jonathan Stead, and CHI & Partners Holdings.
The new company will be responsible for paying redundancies, which will include a number of Rapier's 35-strong full-time team. It is currently in talks with staff about who will move to the reborn agency.
Stead will search for a new creative leader as Ed Morris, Rapier’s executive creative director and creative partner, is leaving the business. Its strategy partner, John Shaw, is expected to work with the new agency as a consultant. (Campaign)
DraftFCB has appointed Steven Bennett-Day, creative partner at digital agency Skive, as its digital creative director. He replaces Matthew Maxwell, who had moved into the role from Blue Barracuda after DraftFCB’s acquisition of the agency. Maxwell left DraftFCB in June. (Campaign)
The Brooklyn Brothers has hired the Goodby, Silverstein & Partners copywriter Damian Fitzgerald as a creative director. Fitzgerald will report to the agency's executive creative director, Ali Alvarez, and work across its client portfolio, which includes Jaguar Land Rover, BSkyB and Tate. (Campaign)

Barclays has appointed its retail banking chief and former Barclaycard boss Antony Jenkins as group chief executive with immediate effect, following Bob Diamond's exit from the disgraced bank in July. (Marketing)
Philips UK & Ireland has promoted its consumer lifestyle division's top marketer Joanna Elliott to the role of managing director of the division. (Marketing)
Yahoo has appointed former Amazon vice-president Kathy Savitt as global chief marketing officer, replacing Mollie Spilman, who had been in the role for just three months. (Marketing)
Media
Trinity Mirror, the owner of the Daily Mirror and the Liverpool Echo, has appointed former HMV boss Simon Fox as its chief executive, replacing Sly Bailey. (Media Week)
The AOL Advertising.com group has hired Steve Filler as its new UK managing director. (Media Week)
Frank Bryant has left Posterscope after 20 years to join independent outdoor media agency Talon as a director and shareholder. (Media Week)
