Microsoft has promoted Andy Hart, general manager of its advertising and online (A&O) division in the UK, to the new position of vice-president A&O Europe, and has replaced him with its Canadian leader Owen Sagness. (Media Week)

OMD UK has hired Channel 4's digital lead, Carl Read, as the new head of digital following the departure of David Hompe. (Media Week)

Starbucks has recruited Pagefield partner Simon Redfern as UK corporate affairs chief in the wake of the damaging corporation tax affair. (PR Week)

The Royal Mail's head of digital communications and communications planning Abby Guthkelch is leaving in April to join Ketchum. (PR Week)

Ogilvy PR London is bolstering its issues and crisis capabilities with the establishment of its first dedicated crisis practice. Ben Lock will lead the crisis practice, reporting to the division’s head, Iain Bundred. (PR Week)

Matt Baker, the former Channel 4 comms chief, has returned to the media industry as vice-president of corporate comms for Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN). (PR Week)
