Walkers advertises new crisp flavours
Walkers is supporting its new crisp flavours under the umbrella 'Great British Flavours' with an Austin Powers-style TV campaign starring Gary Lineker. The ex-footballer dances down London's fashionable Carnaby Street circa 1960 to James Brown's 'Poppa's got a brand new bag', clad in purple suit, green ruffled shirt and orange-tinted glasses and surrounded by a mob of mini-skirted girls. When a young boy asks Lineker for a crisp, the former England captain declines saying, "It's my last one". The 'Great British flavours' range comprises Cheese and Branston Pickle, Marmite, and Heinz Tomato Ketchup flavoured crisps. Creative is by Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO with media planning and buying by MediaVest.
