Bacardi-Martini brings back Vinnie Jones for promotion
Bacardi-Martini brings back Vinnie Jones to promote its Bacardi rum for the second execution in its 'Welcome to the Latin Quarter' campaign breaking in early July. In the 50-second ad, Vinnie is walking down the road on his way to a date, when a bar tray flies out of a pub and takes the heads off the flowers he is carrying. He storms into the bar, looking for the culprit, and finds hundreds of people partying and drinking Bacardi. He can't help but warm to the party, and spends the rest of the night with a Bacardi in one hand and the barmaid who threw the tray in the other. Marketing director Maurice Doyle said the campaign, devised by McCann Erickson, aims to introduce the brand to a younger generation of drinkers. Media is by Universal McCann.
