CNET Networks to acquire Silicon Media Group assets
Silicon Media Group, which owns and operates silicon.com, has signed a definitive agreement for its UK-based assets to be acquired by CNET Networks. CNET Networks, which owns the online IT network of web sites ZDNet in the UK, France and Germany, plans to expand silicon.com into a pan-European operation. Tom Bureau, a co-founder and chief executive of Silicon.com, will join CNET Networks as vice-president on completion of the transaction.
