Alton Towers closed its doors to the public for one weekend in June this year and handed the Staffordshire theme park to BT for exclusive use. The family fun day, rumoured to cost the telecoms giant £1m, was open to 15,000 employees and their families. It was the biggest corporate event Alton Towers has hosted and is a prime example of how seriously theme parks take corporate business.
