DIRECT BRIEF: DMA hits back at accusations

The DMA has hit back at accusations that its use of the term 'junk mail' in its campaign to increase recycling is detrimental to the industry. The association has received a number of complaints about the use of the expression. A spokeswoman for Planet Ark, the environmental organisation supporting the campaign, said the industry must recognise that there is such a thing as junk mail.
