Vodafone in photo contest on Yahoo!
The mobile network selected pictures for ads on the front page of Yahoo! UK & Ireland from messages sent in via its '15 minutes of fame' microsite (www.vodafonefame.co.uk). Winners are notified by text, with the day and time that their picture will appear. Internet users have been targeted with expandable banners on web sites geared towards socialising and going out. "Showing people the fun they can have with picture messaging and giving them their moment in the spotlight in this interactive environment is a great demonstration and incentive," said Lisa Bjornberg, consumer ad manager at Vodafone. The campaign highlights Vodafone's 'cheaper picture messaging' at 12p. OMD Digital developed the campaign for the network.
