Editorial: No excuse for poor accessibility
If you have responsibility for any aspect of a brand's online presence, you have every right to be nervous that its web site doesn't meet the highest standards of accessibility. According to research by The Disability Rights Commission (see p18), some 81 per cent of the sites it measured against the World Wide Web Consortium guidelines came up short. Some 1,000 web sites were surveyed in a diverse range of sectors - including Government, business, web services and e-commerce - so this figure would seem representative.
