The UK's biggest surfing event, held annually on Fistral Beach, Newquay, will be broadcast by Channel 4. - British number one Russell Winter will battle for the top prize in the men's contest. There is also a women's contest, sponsored by Nokia. - In the 23 years since the first Boardmasters, the event has widened to include lifestyle sports such as roller-skating, skateboarding, BMX and motocross.
