Tanya Pein has unexpectedly quit as managing director of online sales house 24/7 UK. A spokeswoman said Pein, who joined the company only five months ago, had left ’by mutual agreement to pursue her own activities’ and that there had been no animosity. It is thought Pein felt sidelined by a re-organisation requiring managing directors to report to 24/7’s European head office in Amsterdam. Pein previously ran her own internet consultancy and was responsible for setting up Bertelsmann’s Books Online (BOL) in the UK. The agency is now being run by sales director Mark Nall and client services director Griselda Billington. A replacement will be recruited ’in the near future’.
