BBC to launch West Midlands TV pilot with plans to expand nationwide
LONDON - BBC director-general Mark Thompson is launching a local television news service in the West Midlands that, if successful, could be rolled out to more than 60 cities and counties across the UK possible creating hundreds of new jobs.
