Tesco has revealed details of its pounds 12m sponsorship of the Millennium Dome’s Learning Zone. The area will include a re-creation of a school corridor, featuring the sound of a ranting headmaster and the reek of boiled cabbage, and a ’learning orchard’, featuring 50 interactive displays on how technology will change learning in the 21st century. The outside of the zone, which links to the Manpower-sponsored Work Zone, will feature the world’s largest poster site (pictured). Funding for the Learning Zone was pulled from Tesco’s marketing budget. Tesco hopes the zone will highlight its links with education, particularly its SchoolNet 2000 project, which supplies internet facilities to schools.
