An increasingly frequent headache for companies or government is to discover that an employee has lost their laptop or had it stolen - resulting in sensitive personal information escaping into the wild, and the wrong hands. A staggering recent example was the loss in May of a laptop by someone from the US Department of Veterans Affairs, containing the personal records of 26 million veterans and active-duty troops.
