P&G confirms Gillette shift to BBDO
Procter & Gamble has confirmed its appointment of BBDO to handle key Gillette brands across Asia-Pacific, as reported by Media on July 7.
According to a press statement, BBDO Singapore will manage the regional business for Asia and India, excluding China. BBDO China will handle the Greater China brief, working on the Vector, Mach 3 and new product development brands. BBDO Japan is tasked with the Japan account.
In Asean and India, the Gillette business was previously handled primarily by Ogilvy & Mather. The shift in business follows P&G's acquisition of Gillette in 2005, with BBDO benefiting from global consolidation of an advertising roster that also included Ogilvy and McCann Erickson.
