The Week: Media news - Rivals slam BBC overspend

The BBC has been criticised by its commercial rivals after a review by the BBC Trust revealed that the corporation had overspent on its online budget by nearly £36 million last year. The BBC's digital operations cost £110 million, nearly 50 per cent more than the £74 million it had planned to spend.
