The Week: City News - BSkyB to bid for Tiscali UK
BSkyB is in talks to acquire the UK business of the broadband provider Tiscali in a £450 million deal after The Carphone Warehouse abandoned its interest in bidding. Tiscali has been up for auction since it launched a strategic review in February. A deal would nearly double Sky's existing 1.79 million UK broadband customer base, making it the third-largest broadband provider in the country, after BT and Virgin Media.
