Clients paying late? Do what BT does
Q I run a successful ad agency, but am finding it increasingly difficult to balance my books because some of my biggest clients are not paying their bills on time. And I am talking six months after the due date. This obvious delaying tactic is costing me money because I am honouring the upfront payment terms we have with TV and film production companies. Do you consider it acceptable practice to pass my bank charges on to them? Or should I just put up and shut up and assume the late payments will end when the good times return?
