Media Bitch's Diary 12 April
This week Bitch uncovers the face behind Mr Blobby at the recent Channel 5 ski trip, discovers Uncle Euphoria at Clear Channel as he hands out the bacon rolls and jigs with Tony Regan's Pogue Traders.
Darren McKay: Clear Channel's Uncle Euporia
Everyone loves a sausage
To start, less Bitch than, ahhh, how nice for this one my little breakfast-types. Looks like one member of the Clear Channel outdoor crew has been slaving away over a hot stove for the benefit of his bleary-eyed colleagues.
Darren McKay, nicknamed Uncle Euphoria at the outdoor specialist got his meat out and made bacon sandwiches and veggie sausage rolls for 80 people here at the Clear Channel Golden Square headquarters yesterday (Wednesday 11 April) after he had pledged to do it.
The outpouring of generosity was apparently to celebrate a new initiative from Clear Channel called Summer of Euphoria to celebrate the events happening over the hotter months, including refurbishing the Golden Square reception with bunting and fake grass.
Blobby busted!
Belated news, but Bitch has just got photographic evidence of the recent ski trip when Channel 5 took a number of its best contacts to The Alps for a bit of rest and recuperation, and more than a few beers, this girl has been told.
How else would you explain what is going on here?
Turns out that on arrival at the ski resort, the guests of Channel 5 commercial director Nick "Bammo" Bampton and his right hand man partnerships director Agostino Di Falco, were handed their costumes…yes, you read that right, their costumes.
Most of the costumes had a children’s television theme, with (although slightly blurred) Mr Blobby making an appearance.

The media personality inside the famous pink suit... according to an unnamed source, step forward Ms Jenny Biggam, co-founder of media agency the7stars...

Fairytale of Harlesden
News comes to Bitch that a certain chief strategy officer at Initiative enjoyed the recent celebrations for St Patrick's Day, but not in the usual manner of watching the rugby and downing too many pints of the black stuff.
This girl hears that this is because the media staffer in question Tony Regan was too busy playing the accordion to the assembled masses at not one, but two, pubs.
Bitch hears that Tony had to dive across town with his Pogues tribute band The Pogue Traders (nice name) from the Kings Head in Acton to the Misty Moon in Harlesden. Life on the road eh, Tony?

Not that the band hasn't had praise heaped on them (and actually this girl hears they are quite good).
They can be found here and Bitch is sure are available for weddings, wakes and just the general craic.
Check out the video below if you don't believe her.
Neil Skinner from the Harrow Times called the Pogue Traders "Absolutely Brilliant!" while Andrew Ranken, a genuine member of the original Pogues said Tony's combo was the "best Pogues tribute act I have seen".
Until next time my little Irish-types.
Bitch xxx
