The Children and Young People's Services Awards 2008

20-Nov-08

* ENTRY DEADLINE EXTENDED UNTIL THURSDAY 31 JULY *

It is difficult to overstate the importance of improving the life chances of children and young people, with issues around childhood and adolescence under the public spotlight as never before. These awards recognise the innovative and inspiring work taking place all over the UK that exemplifies the principles enshrined in Every Child Matters, the Children’s Plan and the Ten Year Youth Strategy.

This work is taking place at every level, some of it project-based and with a preventative focus, some of it concerning change throughout organisations to make them more centred around the young, and some of it involving the demanding task of creating services where none existed before.

The Children and Young People's Services Awards, brought to you with the help of The Children’s Workforce Development Council, aim to recognise and celebrate the best that is being achieved across the UK.

They are a chance for you to get your hard work, innovation and dedication recognised by colleagues. And they’re a way to communicate some of the learning and best practice from projects at the forefront of developing new ways of working. Finally, the awards are an opportunity to raise the profile of the sector to government, political and funding supporters and the general public.

We hope you will be inspired to enter the awards and achieve the wider recognition that your organisation's achievements deserve.
