SP has evolved, but same rules apply
Promotions & Incentives 03-May-07
After a two-year "retirement" following the sale of Triangle, I find myself back in marketing communications at Initials.
Like Philip Circus (Letters, P&I, April 2007), I recall the excitement of winning my first competition. It was in the 60s, when as a young marketing executive at Nestle, I was dispatched to a promotional industry exhibition. A visitors' competition invited the completion of a tiebreaker: "The use of promotions stimulates ...". My entry of "... consumer excitement, retail reaction and wholesale reward" won me a holiday in Majorca and led to a lifelong career in this dynamic discipline.

Much may have changed since then, but my entry is as true today as it was then.
