Mishon follows Kerr to the post of ISP chairman

LONDON - Mentor Marketing & Investment and Pulse chairman Clive Mishon has finally taken over as chairman of the Institute of Sales Promotion.
The appointment, which was set to be ratified at the ISP annual general meeting as P&I went to press, comes after "real debate within the organisation as to its future direction", said Mishon.

Mishon, who has been ISP's marketing director since June 2006, has been tipped to take on the role since September. But he faced challenges from two unnamed contenders before the ISP board finally decided to back him in November.
"The most important rallying cry of this first year will be inclusiveness - the message will be that while you might not call yourself an SP practitioner, you are most certainly in SP because it exists in all media channels." Also on his agenda is "contemporising the ISP, and to do that, one's got to look at everything. The board understands that I'm prepared to think the unthinkable and that I have to be bold."
Mishon takes over from MRM chairman Peter Kerr after his two-year stint in the role. Kerr was awarded the ISP Fellowship at the trade body's Christmas lunch, alongside Andrew Brown, director-general of the Advertising Association.
