M&S to drive spend with voucher handout

LONDON - Marks & Spencer has handed out around one million vouchers to its staff as part of a friends and family promotion.

The vouchers which offer discounts on clothing, food and homewares have been handed out. The move is being seen in some quarters as an attempt to boost sales ahead of the retailer's next trading update in July.

Staff have received around a dozen vouchers each which are valid between 26 to 28 June. This is the second time M&S have run such as promotion, the first being in February this year.
