Journalists lap up iPhone 5 launch campaign
The media reaction to the newly launched iPhone 5 on Twitter has been strongly positive, according to the tracking site Lissted.

On Wednesday evening, Apple announced the latest version of its best-selling smartphone at an event in San Francisco. Taller, lighter and faster than its predecessors, it is also the first iPhone capable of running on 4G networks.
RealWire’s Lissted service, which enables users to search journalists’ tweets by topic, found that the ratio of positive to negative tweets mentioning the iPhone 5 was 2.5-to-one.
The data was based on a combination of 1,942 technology media tweets and 2,753 tweets from the general media. Of these, 1,384 and 1,966 were positive, respectively.
Lissted tracks 2,242 Twitter accounts run by technology journalists or media outlets. Approximately one in three tweets from these accounts mentioned the terms 'Apple', 'iPhone', 'iPhone5', 'iOS', 'iPod' or 'nano' in the 24-hour period after 2pm on Tuesday. At one point during the launch, all of the top ten trends on Lissted were Apple-related.
'The fact that people are interested in a big announcement from Apple isn’t news, but the degree to which this latest launch has dominated technology media conversation on Twitter is still something to marvel at,' said Adam Parker, CEO of RealWire.
'To me, statistics such as these highlight the importance of PR professionals building Twitter into their media relations strategy.'
