Davies has overseen publicity for the shows at Thames, part of Freemantle Media UK, for 18 months. She joins the PR shop in the new role of director of entertainment, responsible for driving growth in both the corporate and consumer strands of the sector.
Prior to Thames, Davies was a head of comms at BBC Radio, which she joined from Knowledge.
Her appointment is a key part of Franklin Rae's drive to better reflect its owner's business, the James Grant Group.
The group, which provides management and professional services for high-profile media, entertainment and sports personalities such as Piers Morgan and Clare Balding, bought Franklin Rae in 2011 to become a 'one-stop shop' for PR, media, sports and entertainment services.
Founder Jill Franklin said she is 'currently exploring expansion into other areas of PR activity'. Current clients include Pulse Films, Nexus Productions and Rastamouse.
